Summer Session Instructor in Art - School of Art
The Art program on the Tempe campus and Online at Arizona State University invites applications for Summer Session Instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses online and/or on-campus in: Art
These positions are one summer semester appointments, part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications. A typical summer instructor course load is one to two classes per summer semester. Teaching duties include: preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes).
The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as summer session instructors may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.
Anticipated start date is: Summer 2025, session A, B and/or C

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4 years of industry experience or a Master’s degree in relevant field, by time of appointment and 2 years of industry experience
- Evidence of effective teaching
- MFA or Ph.D. in relevant field by time of appointment
- Record of scholarly publication and/or evidence of professional development in relevant field
- Minimum of two years of post-secondary teaching experience
